Aging Matters, also known as Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging, is a not for profit organization serving an eighteen county area in Southeast Missouri, with the regional office in Cape Girardeau. The essential goal of our organization is to provide quality services to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of persons, age 60 and over, enabling them to live in their own homes for as long and independently, as possible.
An eighteen-member Board of Directors governs the Agency. One delegate from each county is elected by adults, 60 years of age and older, living in the service area.
We happily serve the counties of Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Dunklin, Iron, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Perry, Reynolds, Ripley, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne.
Our mission at Aging Matters is to develop a coordinated delivery system of services to assist and enable older
Missourians to remain in their own homes as long as possible and enhance the quality of life for all older Missourians.
