RSVP/VIC Volunteer Recognition Banquet Held

   The Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Volunteer Intergenerational Center Annual Recognition Banquet was Held April 17 at the Eagles Aerie #3775 in Cape Girardeau. Approximately 200 volunteers attended. This year, the event opened with a special tribute to Tina Nations, Program Director, who passed away in February. Special words of appreciation and praise for an outstanding job were expressed by Faune Riggin, Program and News Director for KZIM and KSIM Radio Stations; Lana Johnson, Executive Director for Aging Matters; and Rhonda Bramlett, Nutrition Project Director at Aging Matters, who read special memories of Tina written by Ellie Knight, the past director of RSVP.

  The banquet area was decorated with a "Sports" theme and those attending had the opportunity to dress in their favorite sports attire. Prizes were given to first, second, and third place winners.

  Attendees enjoyed dinner prepared by the Eagles and entertainment provided by V-J Music. Drawings for door prizes completed the evening.

   Major sponsors of the 2018 Annual RSVP/VIC Recognition Banquet were Modern Woodsmen - Fraternal Financial, Kelly Darby, FIC and Eagles Aeries #3775. Contributors for the recognition included: Aging Matters, Bank of Missouri, Cape Girardeau Senior Center, Jackson Senior Center, Medicenter Pharmacy, University of Missouri Extension-Scott County, Red Cross-SEMO Chapter, SEMO Food Bank, United Way of Southeast Missouri, Chaffee Senior Center and RSVP/VIC Advisory Board Members.
